Cynthia Rowley's 2018 Show for NYC Fashion Week
Hi everyone!
I know there might be a post published with a compilation of photos from NYC's 2018 Fashion Week but I'd like to zoom in on one particular show that I actually initially saw on Instagram! A bit of background story first: the older brother of a good childhood friend of mine married a model who's actually quite popular on social media. She goes by the username "Little Model" and I happen to also follow her on Instagram. She was invited to Cynthia Rowley's show and took some videos of it, posting them onto her story. Honestly, it was probably one of the most unique ones I've ever seen.
Cynthia Rowley had her models roller skate indoors and out on the street wearing her designs.

Like I don't think any other designer put their models on skates and let them loose in New York City. Now I'm not super into Fashion Week but this show was definitely able to catch my eye just by the concept alone. That led me to look more into the designer and the pieces that she showcased, as well as previous shows she's done. To be honest, her designs aren't the most crazy; there were definitely more insane ones on the runway throughout the week. But it's how she presents them that bring a creative, eye-catching factor and conveys the message of her clothes. Her previous shows have also included some out of the ordinary element (like big white swings used in her 2018 Spring show) to compliment and present the message of the clothes she designs. Similarly with our own designs, presentation is extremely important in conveying our own message or the message of clients. With so many designs out in the world, all trying to say similar things, thinking outside the box in terms of presentation like Cynthia Rowley, can pay off in huge ways.
