DIGITAL ARTIST LUKE MURPHY
Yesterday, I attended a lecture by digital artist Luke Murphy at the Tyler School of Art. I encourage all of you to take a look at his website, as many of the themes and concepts that we are currently covering in this class are explored within his work.
In the lecture, Murphy displayed a number of his digital works, explaining how his main focus is bridging the gap between traditional and newer media forms. Connecting to our course, he often finds inspiration in sounds, ideas, and data, and translates these ideas into abstract form. He also discussed the importance of "perfect randomness" in his work, which he believes humanizes all types of art, giving a spark of life. Murphy also emphasizes the relationship that society has with technology in his art, as well as dissonance between word and image.
Hope you all enjoy!
Great work! Thanks for sharing this.
