In the theme of the digital takeover, I thought it would be interesting to look into computer-generated art. Turns out, advancements in machine learning/artificial intelligence technology has enabled computers to make their own art based after analyzing historical works.

The idea of machines becoming artist is a bit scary to me - I previously thought creative occupations like artists, designers, and musicians would be safe from computer automation, and would in fact thrive as automation freed up labor to pursue more creative endeavors instead. Apparently not. This raises all sorts of questions - will computer generated art be considered "inferior"/worth less than human made art? Is computer generated art really "original"? Will humans be able to tell the difference between computer generated and human made art? Will computers be better at creating aesthetically pleasing artwork than humans? How about art as social commentary?

This development opens a whole new can of worms, and it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
