I hadn't thought about how design could play a role in politics, but after reading the article I definitely do realize how design can play a big role in the political sphere. Well designed political flyers are essential to catch readers attention, and can be the difference between the ads being tossed immediately or being read before being tossed. Campaign design can reflect the "personality" of the campaign, convey hidden meaning and emotion, and can create symbols that voters can identify with.

Especially for smaller local elections that often get overlooked, I think that investing in good design for political advertising materials could go a long way.
