The Art of Movie Production Design

For my cinema studies class, I recently worked with a group to produce a professional-grade short film, which took 10 actors and 3 full days to film. As the group member with the most design and fine art experience, I was named Production Designer. My main jobs included planning the overall feel and look of the film, film filters, actor feel, planning and procuring costumes and all props, and identifying set locations. I have learned so much from this experience, but the main points that I got out of this project were how many steps are involved in productions like this, how much art is integrated into film, and how difficult it is to buy props and costumes in a snowstorm. Attached is my mood board I created for the film overall. I can't wait to see how the film turns out, and if the product is really able to match my vision!
